Sindha delivered a baby girl at 8:15pm on Friday, the 20th of June. Both mom and daughter are doing fine. The daddy, too.
I'll put up a detailed post later - suffice to say that the last three days have been extremely hectic and a bit tense. She went for her regular checkup on Wednesday evening. The doc found that her BP was high and promptly admitted her into Chinmya Mission Hospital. We waited for a day without doing anything and another day with Sindha in labour. High BP, some minor bleeding and a scan that revealed that the baby had the umbilical cord around her neck forced the doc to go in for a Ceasarian section. Luckily everything went smoothly after that and the baby was delivered without any problems. Both sets of parents were here, which was good too.
Sindha is tired and a bit weak. She expects to be discharged by Tuesday. The kid is keeping us awake at night, as expected. Haven't yet finalised the name, but its most likely to be either Rachana or Megha. I'll put up pics when I get a chance
How do I feel ? I don't know, really. It hasn't yet sunk in, I guess. However it felt good to be with Sindha and the baby, cuddling together and looking into each other eyes.
We are three now.
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

ReplyDeleteCongrats! And now you don't have to worry about Prahalada! :D
ReplyDeleteSweet! Congrats, and I vote for Megha!
ReplyDeleteAccording to some bizarre tradition in my family, if the kid's got the umbilical cord wound around itself, then they do a "rebirth" to the kid, pulling it from out of/under a cow's butt, so that happened to me, and the cow became my mom. And that happened to my dad, too. So my mom and grandmom are both cows.
Glad to know one more joins the club ;/
Megha! Megha! Megha!
ReplyDeleteOh, and congratulations.
Congratulations to all three of you!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to both of you!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations !!
Congratulations to both of you! Here's to many more sleepless nights! :)
ReplyDeletecongrats .. now starts the fun ;).. and me's vote for Megha too.
ReplyDeletecongrats :D
ReplyDeleteNot really..The ruling just does not permit children under age 13 to use the LiveJournal.com service right?
ReplyDeleteI meant starting one for her by her parents sorta chronicling her day-to-day life . My mom kept a diary of sorts for me from the day I was born till I was about a year-ish. She gave it to me when I was about 10.. and it was written (as best she could have guessed) from my point of view. You'll be surprised how something so thoughtfully simple elevates to become a gal's most prized possession and remains so, years later. I guess it just feels like the kinda thing worth exploiting a few loopholes in a rather evadable law for ;)
And, congrats to the new dad :-D
ReplyDeleteHope all of you are doing fine by now.
How do I feel ? I don't know, really. It hasn't yet sunk in, I guess. However it felt good to be with Sindha and the baby, cuddling together and looking into each other eyes.
That sounds like one of the greatest feelings to have. Congrats again :-)
Er, what was fast?
ReplyDeletei wouldve loved to have had more memories of me as a kid.
ReplyDeletedoesnt have to be a public journal anyway.. can be private and the kid can decide when hes/shes 13/18/whatever what to do with it.
I wanna stick a knife thro' bart's face, in that userpic of yours.
ReplyDeleteCongrats...and
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the world u new bundle of joy...
Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteIt was kept just for a year. I think my parents were mature enough to not chronicle my entire childhood and just bits that I would be interested in. I guess they figured that I'd wonder (which I did) someday how it was like when I was born and the kind of things I did, who came to see me, how the things I did affected people ard me...and this helped tell me just that and how happy they were.
ReplyDeleteWell maybe it’s just me too. But I’m pretty sure more than a few of us like this kinda thing over on Venus, which was pretty much the only reason why I mentioned it.
We are three now.
ReplyDelete:D ..and three is family. :D
yay! :))
Congrats! And good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy vote's for Megha too :)
I'm a Caesarian too. So was Julius Caesar. The kid's bound for greatness.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS MADHAV!
Keep documenting the little tot's progress so the rest of us know what to expect when it's our turn to populate the planet.
Wonderful news! I'm sure Sindha's bladder is grateful.
ReplyDeleteThats a coincidence ! Whats her name ?
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the wishes !
The grandma next door spoke to us about the cow. She was disappointed when we said we'll skip that ritual.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wishes !
Thanks. You share the same birth date, if I'm not mistaken (June 20 ?). Happy belated anyway !
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha !
ReplyDeleteTrust me, it wasn't all that fast.
"over on Venus" was a nice touch. Hmmm...this is certainly a good idea, but maybe not on l-j though. Thanks, ma'am !
ReplyDeleteYes, I forgot. *Now*, i am feeling old. And Thanks :)
ReplyDelete/me slaps forehead - dunno how I missed this!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to both you and Sindha!!! This is great news.
