Love this list

Probably because I've seen most of the top 20 movies on the list. But they would figure in my list of all time favorites too. Maybe I'm a closet maverick.

  1. I like the list except for David Lynch's 'Blue Velvet'. I found it ~very~ boring. I have seen the movie appearing in many a Top-N list. Maybe, I should attempt watching it again...

'Don't Look Now' is one of the most underrated horror movies. I don't know if Hari remembers this - it was one of the 2 movies I brought along with me to NJ; the other being 'Delicatessen'. 'Rosemary's Baby' pales in comparison...

  2. Blue Velvet was an interesting movie. Yes, it was boring in parts, esp when Hopper was not around. I liked the total 'tone' of the film.

Sad to say, I havent seen any of Dont Look Now, Delicatessen and Rosemary's Baby (though I've read Ira Levin's book)

  3. Har har, "when Hopper was not around" ;-)

Wonder if you've seen La Cit? des enfants perdus (The City of Lost Children). 'Delicatessen' is also by the same team - Jeunet & Caro. Two of the most visually sumptuous movies I've ever seen. I'm eagerly waiting for Jeunet's new movie - 'Amelie'.

  4. Funny. I was reading about Amelie just yesterday. There was an interview with Aamir Khan, and the interviewer was talking abt this movie which is tipped to win the Best Foreign Language Pic at the next Oscars. Whats it about ?
