The painters want to work alone. The mason doesn't want anyone else in the house when he carefully completes his work, which involves arranging three bricks in the backyard. The carpenters don't give a damn about anyone else and keep doing exactly what they please. The supervisor, a distant relative of Scarlett, assures everyone that tomorrow is another day. The neighbours give dire warnings about various problems - water seepage in the walls, drainage issues, erratic power, inadequate security and Mexican grass being replaced by Bangalorean.
No matter. We will move in by
If you keep Mexican grass will the cows in the neighbourhood evolve into Mexican cows?
ReplyDeleteThe advantage of leaking walls is that you won't need more electrical outlets.. just push that fridge against the wall.
And Congratulations.

ReplyDeleteI stand by the side and laugh!
ReplyDeleteIt might make you feel better to hear that after two weeks of masons, carpenters and painters we (meaning I) finally breathed easy yesterday. Today we discovered seepage on the walls and they had broken the walls down by 11.
So where is the new house, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'll remember that advice about the fridge, amigo.
ReplyDelete36k? I thought it was 10k if you pay before July 31.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you too.
Ah, thank you very much. I breathe again.
ReplyDeleteThanks and good luck to you too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to find out what I'll discover after two weeks. With a baby running amok in the house, I'm sure this is going to be fun.

is there a pooja?
:)
ReplyDeleteMasons sometimes have to be reminded whose house it is that they're building... probably has to do with having built something with your own hands.
All the best for Saturday / Sunday / Monday!
No, no pooja.
ReplyDeleteHappy House warming! So exciting...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, the house warming got over a month back. I'm more tired than excited, but thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the moving. Hope it's done by Aug 29th!!!!

ReplyDeleteI hope for Monday, August 2nd, and not some Monday beyond that.

Why do Bangaloreans call you 'saar'?
ReplyDeleteWell you'd better get used to it....Saar is what the babus get called....
ReplyDeleteMy hero! I managed to nix the pooja too, though it took a little persuasion.
