What I've learnt over the past few weekends - Chapter One

All characters in new Chinese movies fight by flying around. They sometimes stare at each other and pass profound statements like "Broken Tailbone is sharp like a leaf", "It is the way of the pigeon" and "Pass the Tomyum soup". Sometimes they close their eyes and stand still. This is a highly advanced form of fighting, not to be tried at home.

Characters in old Chinese movies fight by yelling at the top of their lungs and lunging at anything that moves. They do not fly over treetops to trade blows. Sometimes they bring in American experts like ex-basketball players or B-movie stars. The thinnest person usually wins in the end.

  1. :) I'm instantly reminded of Snake in the Monkey's Shadow and other Golden Harvest productions!
