Down and out in Dallas, Texas

Dallas. Shit. I'm still in Dallas.

Looks the same as it did before. Nothing ever changes out here.

Have been sleeping past 3am most days, what with one thing and the other. I'm right now at my friend Maneesh's house, on a wireless connection stolen from his neighbour. Just finished watching The Party, a Peter Sellers movie I hadn't seen. Slapstick, but fun. No, it did not have the 'Goodness Gracious Me!' song. That was from The Millionairess.

I have this evil plan to buy a Blackberry from T-Mobile here and use it in India only for GPRS stuff and as a PDA. Would that be cost effective? Hmm. Needs some more investigation, but it's definitely an idea.

In other news, I'm lonely. Good night, world.

  2. Wot he said.
I had to see that movie twice before I could find it funny. The first time I was just cringing on the hosts' behalf.

  3. I don't plan to unlock it, really. I thought I'll take their plan which is something like $200 for 2 years including the phone. The crucial point is whether they charge for international GPRS. I won't use it as a voice phone in India - only for GPRS. Will they charge me for that? Need to find that out.

The cost of an Airtel Blackberry is about Rs 20000 + usage (maybe 2000 a month). So this may be cheaper. Just a thought, anyway.

  4. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to find out my hosts' choice of movie. I might have been quite bored if it had been something I had watched before.
