Feedback loop

Just curious: did any of you guys take up my movie suggestions? Did you like what I recommended?

  1. You recommended Swades.

I didn't find it particularly exciting. Too clichéd, lacking any real content/depth/plot/story — just the same 'ol nauseating "phoren desi misses home" sentiment stuff, if you will.

  9. Here it is.
Why do you think I actually mentioned the name of the movie? [evil grin] As you can see, the original reco is buried deep inside page 2 of the comments.]
ps: any comments about cruel ingratitude are well-taken.

  10. Tough, to be honest. You don't write much in your blog, I don't know too much about you apart from the quizzing. Guess you have already seen Wayne's World?

  13. Hmm, too bad. Not even on VCD, though? A lot of old classics are now available on VCD these days.

  14. Ah, yes. A friend of mine in Bangalore does have a copy. Will ask him once I get back. Won't be able to lend that to you, but rip and burn should do, right?

  15. To be honest with you, I didn't really think you'll like it. Sorry. You could give Me and You and Everyone We Know a whirl, though.

  17. Which is what I saw. I particularly liked the scene in the end where the characters spend a sleepless night while Mad World plays in the background. Man...

  19. What timing. After downloading it off Bit Torrent, I watched This is Spinal Tap last night, instead of packing. In an ideal world, I would have the time to go to the Wikipedia entry for This is Spinal Tap today and read in leisure. But, in reality, I am rushing to delegate work stuff so that my project continues uninterrupted while I'm away.

But, first reaction, fantastic film. Thanks for the reco. As a counter reco, try and watch Some Kind of Monster, a rockumentary about Metallica's experiences just before the release of St Anger. Poignant from what I have heard of it. It's in my download queue right now.

  21. I'd seen Election before. It was good. Not sure why you recommended it to me though. I don't think I was this ambitious back then.

  23. I would have recommended something else if you had seen it. And I didn't recommend it because I thought you were ambitious, just thought you might like it.
