Bond 22 - Quantum of Solace

The new Bond movie has got a name: Quantum of Solace. I don't suppose the movie will have anything to do with the short story of the same name from the book For Your Eyes Only, but the name is interesting.

Quantum of Solace.

I like it.

In other news, A.O. Scott from The New York Times says the new Rambo film has its own kind of blockheaded poetry. LA Times writer John Mueller has put together an impressive kill chart which lists out the gory details from all the four films.

  2. I didn't care much for the Casino Royale when it played in theatres; I figured it would be a typical Bond Film and I thought I had outgrown them. But, when I checked it out recently, I was blown away. I loved the way they took the first novel and blended into the new sequel. And the sound track. Awesome!

Looking forward to the new one. Marc Foster, huh? Action movie? I liked the visual style of his Stranger Than Fiction (all the graphics and peppy soundtrack), so I am not so skeptical.

  3. The name definitely is interesting!

It's nice to see the franchise grow up too...
Take for example, some notes I picked up here and there

"the more serious tone and dimension of the EON Production James Bond series which was initiated with Casino Royale".
"As with Casino Royale (2006), the traditional film series characters of Q and Miss Moneypenny will not be reappearing"

As for Rambo, I read an equally impressive review yesterday

And the one movie I was actually planning to see is getting reviews like
"The best thing anyone could get out of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem is a refund"

But I'm still going to try it!!
Nice new look on the journal :)

  4. Btw, was expecting a post from you on Heath Ledger.
I remember you saying the next Bat movie was the most awaited movie of the year...

I just found out I’d seen 7 of his 18 or so movies.
And I guess I'll be seeing one last one.

I don't know how well he was regarded but he made some strong impressions.
Even in short roles like in Monster's ball.

  5. Thanks, I was playing with different themes. Am not all that happy with this either, but it should do for now.
