RIP Clarke

He's on his way to Rendezvous with Rama, probably.

His three laws:

  1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.

  2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.

  3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

I hope the David Fincher - Morgan Freeman film gets made.

3 comments:

  1. Will look forward to the movie too.

But it'll be interesting to see what they do to keep the movie moving since there aren't any antagonists/other characters... if I remember right.

  2. Exactly. But apparently Freeman has said that he didn't want to make it like another Armageddon-type action movie. Fincher as a director bodes well, too.

  3. Will look forward to it.

And I guess if Clarke could make the book so interesting, they should be able to do the same with the movie too!
