I thinks its too unfair to give free users only 3-4 limit per day. They should be allowed to post atleast 5 times day.But i dont have a problem 'cos i'm an early adopter. :)
I know it's pathetic to grumble about restrictions, but I think its time for all of us who grumble about LJ to move to a freer LJ engine like Deadjournal, Ujournal or Blurty.
The problem is, we have to convince the paid users to move too ;-) .
But seriously, the multiple restrictions on free accounts are a pain in the a*se - limited syndication, limited invites, now limited posting, blah blah. That's my Free Beer talking.
Psst... hardware and bandwidth cost a good deal of money. And that's assuming the software all gets written for free.
Yep, I know.
$25 for a year of service is ridiculously cheap for even an Indian student.
If you are referring to me, I don't delude myself thinking I am The Famously Poor Typical Indian Student - I drive a car around town filled with petrol paid for by my parents, etc etc, so I don't have a right (or inclination, or reason) to grumble.
But yet, I just prefer that everything be free. It's a greedy wish, not a well-thought-out, calculated analysis. An analogy is that I wish that India would win the World Cup - note that I very deliberately do not consider if they actually can - for obvious reasons ;-).
Btw, no offense, but the "Poor Indian Student" technique was a lame and overused ploy. Try again :-).
The "Poor Indian Student" excuse is what I've been given everytime I pulled up some guy for ranting about LJ not giving everything for free. It may not apply in your case, but that still doesn't make in invalid.
The crucial part in Madhav's post was "sign of things to come". Anyway, every user, paid or otherwise should be restricted from posting more than three times a day.

ReplyDeleteI think 3 (or 4 or 5) posts a day is fair enough. Don't think any of us, even paid users, do more than that everyday.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI am content with whatever lj offers for free....good enough for a working guy without a credit card account.

ReplyDeleteGuess what, I also agree.
ReplyDeleteSo far, they've been reasonable.. and if thats a sign of things to come, bring it on!
ReplyDeleteThats interesting though... every user being restricted to 3 posts. I like it too.
