Leaving on a jet plane

But I don't want to go !! Want to kick in my heels and refuse to budge.

Am starting on this Odyssey today evening. First stop, Bombay. Then the blasted de Gaulle airport. Then Cincinatti. Then Dallas. Then Vegas. Dallas. Atlanta. de Gaulle. Bombay. Bangalore.

Damn ! At least it gets over in a week.

On the good news front, met Beladev after six years. He is in town for just a day, staying with his brother at Madivala. He looks the same, though struggling with a goatee right now (he's on vacation). His son looks very much like him and appears to be quite a handful. , he didn't get any mail from you.

  7. Hope you are not hit too hard with jet lag. If I had to travel that distance, I'd spend the whole week jet lagged.

    Taking a camera?

  11. I'll try to sleep on the flight. Hopefully, that will reduce the jet lag.

Yes, I'm taking a camera. A small one.

  12. I hope you are completely over the flu, and that you aren't congested. That can be so painful on flights! I took decongestants once when I was just getting over a cold and had to fly. I think it saved my head from exploding.

Hope you have a good trip.

  14. de Gaulle > Cincinatti

    Drink plenty of water.
Keep your circulation going (by walking down the isles when you can, wiggle your toes and flex your ankles).
    Avoid crossing legs when seated.
Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes when travelling.
Avoid beverages which contain alcohol and/or caffeine both before and during the flight.

  15. In Las Vegas, the casinos begin at the airport itself.

Take a limousine from the airport. If the prices haven't changed much in the last half-decade, a shared limo will cost you $8 to get to the city, while a taxi will cost $30. You'll arrive in style too.

Small tip : on slot machines, dont waste more then 3 coins on a single machine

  20. Thanks for the tip. I looked around for a shared limo but didn't find any. Had to take a cab, but it was only about $12 to get to the hotel from the airport, so it was ok.
