internal 56k modem=350-400 INR external 56k modem=1000-2000 INR depending on brand/make/specs and config. If Linux is not a concern, then an internal one makes sense. Its dialup, not much will change if you have either.
Always use an external modem - far better, and you can use it in linux too.
