Well, whaddya know. The last hundred pages of the Little book totally engrossed me. Pierre put away his need to sound too much like an American teen and got down to some serious writing. I wasn't fully satisfied with the ending, but now I do believe I liked the book.
So guess its worth a buy eh? Am waiting for the Strand Sale to kick off here. Its usually quite good. Stepped inside Oxford Bookstore a few weeks to use the loo and noticed a nice display of this book.
ReplyDeleteSo whats your rating on 10 for this book?
Where is "here" ? The Strand book sale just got over in Bangalore, not sure about Mumbai though.
ReplyDeleteMy rating for the book would be 6 or at best 6.5.
Here is Mumbai City. Usually the Strand Sale kicks in early into the New Year.
ReplyDeleteMe thinks I might buy the book.
Hello!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind me adding you to my LJ-friends list. Gathering up all the "sthalathe pradhana peoples" blogs that I like to read - one of which is yours.

(p.s- did you like john lennon's-murder-inspiration-novel, just to assess ur view of american teens)
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I added you back - always wanted a person from Alaska on my friends list ! The book and movie interest is an added bonus, of course.
ReplyDeleteJohn Lennon's-murder-inspiration-novel ? I'm not too sure if Chapman was really inspired by it to kill Lennon. Anyway, I loved the book. What I know about American teens can be written on the back of an envelope, but that was one hell of a good read.
