The Return of the King ties with Titanic and Ben-Hur for the maximum number of Oscars (11). It won in every single category it was nominated. First fantasy-pic to win Best Picture. Great !
I didn't expect Sean Penn to win, given his unpopularity. Must see Mystic River asap.

you must then see dead man walking too. for the music (nusret fateh ali khan and eddie vedder) for susan sarandon and most of all for sean penn : one of those performances one would call powerhouse.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same gang in Mystic River also - Tim Robbins directed Dead Man Walking, and Sean Penn was in both.

ReplyDeletePay no attention. Mystic River is awesome, if overlong. Good gripping murder mystery entwined with some great drama.
