After noon

It's almost 3pm now and I've slept well, had lunch and spent quality time with a good friend. What more can one want?

My flight leaves in another couple of hours. I plan to stroll across to the Cofee Bean and have the highly recommended espresso. Maybe read a bit of Chricton's State of Fear, though I fear it will suck.

Movies that I copied over to my laptop but haven't watched yet: Malena, High Fidelity, Yojimbo and The Dreamers.

Movie that I saw on the earlier flight from Bangalore: The Motorcycle Diaries.

  1. Yojimbo totally owns. You absolutely have to catch it ASAP.

Bon Voyage, Madhav - travel safe! :-)

  4. Malena is good, High Fidelity is absolutely rockin(pun intended), and Yojimbo owns. You have a safe trip, the entertainment is already superb. :)

  6. Bertolucci's last movie
His ode to the masters of cinema, and the greatest of cinematic moments.
Traces the evolving relation between a french brother and sister, and an american visitor, all cinephiles, in the midst of the cultural revolution in france.

  7. I love Ebert's review of Malena. I thought High Fidelity was vastly overrated, loved Yojimbo (but then Kurasawa can do no wrong in my eyes), and haven't seen The Dreamers.

I'm curious to see what you think of The Motorcycle Diaries. Haven't seen it yet, but have it on my "To Do" list.

  13. Yeah, Ebert's review matched what I thought too.

I liked The Motorcycle Diaries, but I felt something was missing. Maybe a heart. Not quite sure, really.

  15. Thanks for the info. Probably a litle too high brow for me. I was curious about it because I saw it being mentioned on quite a few journals.
