Pride Day

Yesterday was i2Pride Day - had a whale of a time. Drinks, music and dance were the highlights.

Organized Dumb Cs for the show - was reminded of college (, those were the days, eh ?). I made the prelims tough and the finals very simple. Prelims had 3 rounds (2 on movies and 1 personality). Finals had some very easy stuff - eng movies, hindi movies, phrases, personalities and a pictionary round.

If any one's interested, here are some of the questions I used in the prelims. The questions for the finals were easy and quite i2-specific, so I'm not posting them

Movie List:

THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES
DONNIE DARKO
THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS
FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF
THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN
BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN
GATTACA
ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD
THE BLUE DAHLIA
OSMOSIS JONES
THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE
THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE
JEZEBEL
THE OX-BOW INCIDENT
THE BARRETTS OF WIMPOLE STREET
BIRDMAN OF ALCATRAZ
JUDGEMENT AT NUREMBERG
THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE
NATIONAL VELVET
THE PERILS OF PAULINE

Felt quite evil after the prelims. Had to run to avoid getting bumps from the participants.

  1. You just had to dodge bumps? Gee... i2 folk are such accommodating creatures.
(Or maybe they all work under you.)
Hired goons with knuckle dusters would be knocking at your door right now, had it been here. ;)

I remember the first official competition I ever attended -- that intra-first-year thing done by you and Sooraj.
    Ah... those were the days...

  2. Holy hell! Those *are* tough.

I see my group getting "The Andromeda Strain", & "Battleship Potemkin". Maybe "The Royal Tanenbaums" as well. But ouch about the rest.

Also, I'm chuckling away thinking how these names would have translated if they'd made a Hindi version of them a 'la "Dunston checks in".
